For all Seniors
Depending on your session, you will be asked to bring anywhere from 1 to 4 outfits.
Because some surrounding schools still require a traditional portrait for the yearbook, a traditional "school picture" will be taken in-studio. For this outfit, we recommend ladies wear a nice top, sweater or dress with sleeves. For the gentlemen we recommend a suit or button down and dress pants, that still captures your personality. The rest of your session can be as dressy or casual as you like-- choose outfits that you would wear to school or for a night out with friends, or bring in a sports uniform! Feel free to bring props to help represent YOU! Whether it be a furry friend*, dance shoes, your letterman, or an instrument, we can incorporate it into your portraits.
*If bringing a pet to your session, we ask that someone else is there to help take care of them during your session!
Tips from the Visualizations Team
General
Make sure to dress head to toe in all outfits! Don't forget shoes, jewelry, belts or other accessories; if your hair easily falls out of place, make sure to bring your favorite hairspray or gel. Bring your clothes to your session on hangars to help avoid wrinkles.
Hair
Do not try a new hairstyle or cut for your portraits. A haircut one to two weeks prior to your session is recommended. If your hair is dyed or you have highlights, make sure your roots aren't too dark.
Tanning
Be cautious when tanning prior to your session! You may have a noticeable red or orange tone in your portraits if you are sunburnt or have a heavy tan. Avoid heavy use of tanning beds and lotions-- they may make you appear orange. If you want to have a tan for your portrait session, we highly recommend getting a professional spray tan, and ask for something subtle and glowy.
Glasses
We can reduce and sometimes eliminate glass glare. If you have tinted or thick lenses, it can affect the way your eyes look in the camera. In such a case, most optometrists are willing to loan eyeglasses without the glass for your portrait session.
Braces and Teeth
We can remove braces with artwork at an extra cost. It is recommended to visit the dentist for a polish or use whitening strips prior to your session.
Skin/Nails
Do not worry if you have blemishes! All of your final portraits will be fully retouched. Be sure your nails are trimmed and polished to your liking.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your senior session, feel free to call the studio at 330.923.3686, or fill out a contact form. We will get back to you as soon as we can, and we look forward to seeing you for your session!
For the Girls
Make up
Make up is very important to create the look you want for senior portraits! If you normally wear make up, we recommend that you do your eyes a little heavier than normal. If you do not normally wear make up, we ask that you wear a base foundation that correctly matches your skin, mascara, and lip gloss at the very least. We have a list of professional make up artists if you are interested in having your make up done prior to your session.
Outfits
Outfits are very important when it comes to your senior portraits. We want to capture your personality through your style. We also want you to be truly comfortable in what you are wearing, so we do not request much when it comes to your outfit choices. The only thing we ask is that you limit outfits with shorter skirts and dresses, as multiple outfits with them, limits the number of poses we can use. Keep in mind what type of silhouettes you are wearing, as these portraits will last a lifetime! Keep it classic, but don’t be afraid to add a little color, a cool silhouette or fun shoes.
For the Guys
Facial Hair
Facial hair can be difficult to retouch in your images, so make sure you have shaved to your liking prior to your session for a clean look.
